Unit 15: London Project
This section documents and collages the conversations I have had with external stakeholders and groups of interest.
I began by contacting the founder of Department H, Gogh Imaizumi, informally on Instagram as this was the only method of contacting him I could find. I hope to collaborate with the event on the project as a whole.
I have contact several event spaces that play host to drag shows in London to find out about their audience demographics. I have also carried out a trail open call on Daisie, a creative collaboration app.

Below the collage of communication, there is a first draft of my Partners/Stakeholder information that has been included within my project proposal.

Department H
Collaboration with Department H founder Gogh Imaizumi is necessary for the development of the archive, specifically in terms of permission and content. Contacting Imaizumi can bridge the gap between myself and the event; Imaizumi could introduce me to a number of contacts (performers and documenters).

Updates
05/05/20 Contacted via Instagram (the only means of directly messaging Imaizumi that could be found).

22/05/20 Contacted again via Instagram as a follow-up. No response given yet and account inactive since 29/03/20.

Open Call
Round One
Open call for those who have existing media documenting their performance or visitor to a Department H event. This can be distributed through Imaizumi’s existing network and by directly contacting those who have publicly documented the events (e.g. bloggers, photographers, journalists).
Round Two
Open call for artist reflections on individual encounters with Department H (physically, virtually or via the archive) will be welcomed and promoted through an open call. These can take the form of artworks, illustrations, blog posts, photography, videography, audio or other relevant forms of creative response. These creative interactions with Department H aim to further engagement with Department H in a way that reflects the creation of the event as a product of intercultural communication.

01/06/20 Open Call section has since been updated to a digital residency programme. No further action needed on Open Call.

Translator
Department H has previously only existed as an event in Tokyo, Japan. Its origin is in intercultural communication, with the sharing of underground culture between American and Japanese communities inspiring the first Department H event. With this in mind, the archive hopes to capture the importance of intercultural communication by providing information in both English and Japanese; for this, a skilled translator is needed.
