OVERVIEW

ACCESSIONS
Below is a list of the places I have already collected accessions from. Some of these images/videos have been used in the final prototype. These have also been documented in the bibliography.

Ameblo blog for Department H, for poster illustrations by Gogh Imaizumi

Blog posts and personal photographs, by a visitor who runs La Carmina - 2009, 2011 and 2015

May 2013 Department H event, captured in a YouTube video by ThatFoodnCultureGuy

Short documentary, on PLAY TOKYO YouTube account

The prototype needs the provenance and additional information added to each image. This information, and a comprehensive list of all accessions, will be introduced in the coming months. It will not be accessible on the website, but will be used 'back-of-house' as a management system.

FUTURE PLANNING
The purpose of creating a living archive, rather than an exhibition, was to ensure that the narrative stayed in the hands of those who exist within it. With that in mind, I'd like to work closely with Gogh Imaizumi to collate as much existing content as possible from Department H. Ideally, with his collaboration we could collect personal photographs and videos from regular attendees and performers, as well as, gain access to livestream recordings that have been taken down (they only go up on the website for a few weeks after the show). I would also like to commission Imaizumi to capture a short audio or video recording of his own personal account of the creation and development of Department H.

As I am moving to Japan in September to work as an Assistant Language Teacher, I would like to use my spare time to visit Department H, experience an event first-hand, and speak with its community. I also plan to collect some oral histories, handwritten or typed anecdotes, and up-to-date photos. I want to ensure that I am capturing the personality of the event in the way that I manage the archive as an ongoing, online platform.
